Polish Boxing League Receives Prestigious Award for Sports Development

On November 27, 2025, at the Sport for All Congress, Polish Boxing Association president Grzegorz Nowaczek accepted the Sports Initiative of the Year award for the Polish Boxing League project. The award was presented by Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki.
The award recognizes initiatives that support the development of grassroots sport, strengthen training structures and engage local communities. The Polish Boxing League meets these criteria as a nationwide, long-term project. Its significance is reflected in the scale of the competition, the number of participating clubs and growing interest among boxers and fans.
After accepting the award, the PZB president stressed that it was the result of cooperation across the boxing community:
- This is a tremendous honor and distinction for the entire Polish Boxing Association. The Sports Initiative of the Year award confirms that ambitious projects are worth pursuing. I want to emphasize: this is not just our success. It is the success of every club that believed in the League and joined it from the start. Without their commitment, this project would not have come into being. There is even more work ahead of us. In the coming seasons, we plan to expand the League’s format, increase the number of competing teams and launch new promotional activities that will attract more young boxers to the sport.
- I am very grateful to the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, led by Minister Jakub Rutnicki, for this exceptional recognition and for supporting the development of Polish Olympic boxing.
As the president emphasized, the award does not mark the end of work on the project. The Polish Boxing League already supports the consistent work of clubs and coaches, helps boxers improve their competitive level and provides an attractive competition format. The recognition affirms the direction chosen by the PZB and provides momentum for the league’s continued development.
The Polish Boxing League is funded by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism under the project “Series of Interclub Boxing Matches.”
