Upsets in the Polish Boxing League: Legia and Rushh Beaten

The 2025 season of the revived Polish Boxing League has delivered plenty of excitement. Two leading teams, KB Legia Warszawa and WKB Rushh Kielce, lost in Round 12. It remains unclear who will win medals and what color they will be.

In Sunday’s first match, Rushh lost 10:8 away to Imperium Boxing Wałbrzych. The result came down to the final bout, in the +90 kg division. Paweł Sajda of the Lower Silesian team defeated Jakub Domurad.

After Rushh’s defeat, Legia had a chance to clinch the title with two rounds remaining. To do so, they had to beat in-form Concordia. A win would have given the Warsaw side a six-point lead over Rushh. The two teams will meet again on November 22 in Kielce. Legia won their meeting in Bemowo 14:4.

Legia instead lost 10:8 to Concordia Knurów, the visitors’ fifth consecutive victory. Capital club boxer Nikolas Pawlik (55 kg) won the opening bout, but Concordia’s boxers took the next three. Among the winners was Damian Durkacz (70 kg).

With Concordia leading 8:4, Mateusz Wodziński (85 kg) won his bout. The 10:4 score meant the visitors were assured of victory. It was a major upset.

Late wins by Alexey Sevostyanov (90 kg) and Oskar Kopera (+90 kg) narrowed Legia’s margin of defeat.

KB Legia lead the standings with 20 points. WKB Rushh and Imperium Boxing have 16 each, Pomorzanin Boxing Team Toruń have 14, and Concordia have 12. Only the Warsaw club are already assured of a medal. Whether it will be gold or silver will soon become clear.
