Away Teams Win Saturday’s Polish Boxing League Matches
The away teams came out on top in Saturday’s round-eight matches, which opened the second half of the Polish Boxing League season. Concordia Knurów beat CKB Potężnie Ciechocinek 10-8, while Imperium Boxing Wałbrzych defeated Golden Team Nowy Sącz 12-6. A day earlier, RKB Wisłok 1995 Rzeszów lost 6-12 to WKB Rushh Kielce.
The match in Ciechocinek began well for the hosts. At 55 kg, Hrachyk Barsehian beat Kacper Słomka. Bartosz Zaremba made it 2-2 with a split-decision win over Mateusz Joński at 60 kg. Wins by Łukasz Dudziński at 65 kg and Oliwier Zamojski at 70 kg put Concordia ahead 6-2. Vitalij Walter sealed the visitors’ victory. At 85 kg, he stopped Marcin Trzaskowski, who suffered an injury in the second round (RSC-I). The visitors led 10-4 at that point.
Oskar Dawidowicz at 90 kg and Paweł Wardyn at +90 kg narrowed CKB Potężnie’s margin of defeat in the final bouts. Wardyn won 2-1. The first-half meeting also ended 10-8, but on that occasion the Ciechocinek team won.
Imperium Boxing proved clearly superior to Golden Team for the second time. The Wałbrzych side won their previous meeting 14-4.
The match in Nowy Sącz followed a similar pattern. Golden Team took the first two points, but the Wałbrzych boxers then won five bouts in a row to move ahead 10-2. Imperium Boxing ultimately won 12-6.
On Sunday, September 14, at 5 p.m., Pomorzanin Boxing Team Toruń will face unbeaten league leaders KB Legia Warszawa.
