Concordia Knurów beat Golden Team Nowy Sącz 16-2

Concordia Knurów's boxers ended the first half of the Polish Boxing League season on a high note, beating Golden Team Nowy Sącz 16-2 away from home on Saturday afternoon.

The postponed second-round match was held outdoors in Park Strzelecki. Both teams had lost all their matches so far, so the first points of the season—and a chance to move off the bottom of the table at the halfway point—were at stake.

Concordia fielded two debutants. One of the winners was Bartosz Zaremba, last year's Polish junior runner-up. He earned a unanimous decision over Wiktor Hanas at 60 kg.

Knurów's leading boxer, Damian Durkacz (70 kg), won in impressive fashion. His opponent, Radosław Dzięgiel, received three standing counts in the first round. The bout was stopped after two and a half minutes.

Golden Team Nowy Sącz, missing their leading boxer Wiktor Skiba (85 kg), did not get on the scoreboard until they were trailing 0-16. Marian Ivanitskyi earned their consolation points at 90 kg, defeating Kacper Pieczyrak by a 2-1 decision.

In the final bout, the home team's Michał Bołoz lost to Michał Fiedler. Bołoz received a standing count and a warning in the second round, then another count from the referee in the third.

One match remains to be held: the Kuyavian-Pomeranian regional derby between Pomorzanin Boxing Team Toruń and Potężnie Ciechocinek. Regardless of the result, Legia Warszawa remain the clear leaders with a perfect 14 points.
