Imperium Boxing beats Golden Team to move into third place

Imperium Boxing Wałbrzych beat Golden Team Nowy Sącz 14-4 in round six of the Polish Boxing League. The Lower Silesian team has eight points from four wins and two losses and sits third in the standings. KB Legia Warszawa leads with 12 points, ahead of KKB Rushh Kielce on 10.
The Wałbrzych side again showed it is a strong contender for a place on the league podium. Its only losses so far have come against the teams from Warsaw and Kielce; it has won every other match. It has one more fixture in this round, on June 21 in Ciechocinek.
Sunday’s match was decided in the fifth bout, at middleweight. Bartosz Gołębiewski beat Konrad Gołuzd to put Imperium Boxing ahead 10-0.
The visitors had four bouts left in which to score points and won two of them. Wiktor Skiba, the Nowy Sącz team’s leader with a 5-0 record, won at 85 kg, while Marian Ivanitskyi (1-1) won at 90 kg.
Paweł Sajda sealed the Wałbrzych team’s victory at +90 kg by beating Krzysztof Twardowski.
Next week, the leading teams will box away from home. Legia will face the still-winless Golden Team in Nowy Sącz, while Rushh will travel to Toruń to meet Pomorzanin Boxing Team.
