Rushh Kielce top the table, Legia Warsaw second after opening round

The Polish Boxing League has returned after more than 20 years. Fans watched exciting bouts, and Rushh Kielce emerged as the first league leaders. KB Legia Warsaw are second. Boxing Team Toruń and CKB Potężnie Ciechocinek also recorded wins.

The Kielce team beat Golden Team Nowy Sącz 16-2 at home on Sunday.

Scoring points for the hosts were Mateusz Szczoczarz at 55 kg, Paweł Brach at 60 kg, Albert Orzeł at 65 kg, Mateusz Polski at 70 kg, Cezary Znamiec at 75 kg and Maksym Mishchenko at 80 kg.

With the score at 12-0, Wiktor Skiba earned Golden Team's consolation points at 85 kg. Viktor Budzinskyi at 90 kg and Marcin Brzeski at +90 kg then sealed Kielce's victory.

Rushh Kielce sit above KB Legia Warsaw in the table after Legia beat Imperium Boxing Wałbrzych 14-4 on Saturday.

The matches between Concordia Knurów and Boxing Team Toruń (8-10), and between CKB Potężnie Ciechocinek and Wisłok Rzeszów (10-8), were closely contested. Both results were decided by the +90 kg bouts.

In Knurów, Boxing Team's Vitalii Burlak beat Concordia's Remigiusz Smoliński by RSC in the first round. In Ciechocinek, Paweł Wardyn beat Wiktor Skiba on points.

The second round of the Polish Boxing League will take place on April 25-27.
