“Master” gave his opponent no chance. Nsue knocked out in the third round

[August 28, 2021] From the outset, it was clear who the favorite was. In excellent form, Mateusz Masternak (45-5, 30 KOs) spectacularly knocked out Felipe Nsue (4-2-1, 3 KOs) in the main event of KnockOut Boxing Night 17. His opponent surprised “Master” with two jabs, but the Wrocław native quickly cooled his enthusiasm with a right cross. Toward the end of the first round, Masternak landed twice with his right hand. The ropes first saved Nsue from a knockdown, and then the bell came to his rescue moments later. In the second round, the former European champion rocked his opponent again—first with a left hook and then with another right. There was still no knockdown, however. The end came at the beginning of the second minute of the third round. Masternak set up his opponent with a jab, stepped in and slammed his right hand into the top of his chin. Knockout!
Kamil Bednarek (9-0, 5 KOs) passed the toughest test of his professional career. The fighter from Dzierżoniów defeated former middleweight world title challenger Javier Francisco Maciel (33-14, 23 KOs). The Pole made a good start to the bout. He set up the experienced Argentine with a short right hook or a hook to the body under the left elbow. As usual, he also moved well on his feet. Early in the second round, he landed twice with a left uppercut and then controlled the fight with his jab. After the break, Maciel tried to pressure the Pole, force him backward and draw him into exchanges. Bednarek remained elusive, however. From the counter, he responded with a left hook or a left swing. Everything went according to plan until the middle of the fifth round, when Maciel landed a right hook. Bednarek had some trouble for a moment, but quickly answered with a spectacular left uppercut and regained control. In the sixth round, he extended his combinations to three or four punches. Once again, he clearly outclassed his opponent. At the end of the seventh round, Kamil took a step back and countered the charging opponent with a left hook to the ear. Maciel hit the canvas, and the round was scored 10-8 for the Pole. In the final three minutes, the Argentine put everything on the line. In the closing moments, he hurt the Pole for the second time, this time with a left hook to the liver. Bednarek won comfortably, but he also received a valuable lesson for the future. The judges scored the fight 79-72, 78-73 and 78-73, all in favor of Piotr Wilczewski’s charge.
Przemysław Zyśk (17-0, 6 KOs) stopped David Bency (14-24-1, 4 KOs). After a quiet first round, the fighter from Ostrołęka landed a left-right combination twice in the second. In the third, he found the mark with a left hook and, right on the bell, sent his opponent to the canvas with a right uppercut. Bency was badly hurt, but after the count he was given an additional minute’s rest. The fourth round was a one-sided beating. Despite being rocked several times, the Hungarian remained on his feet. In the fifth round, he had had enough. Citing an injury, he quit the fight.
Earlier, two-meter-tall Damian Knyba (3-0, 2 KOs), who weighed 110 kilograms, stopped Giorgi Tamazashvili (3-8, 3 KOs).
