At the Tokyo Olympic tournament (2021), it was difficult to expect easy bouts and favorable draws. This was especially true since Poland’s representatives do not occupy high positions in the world rankings. The draw results are therefore no great surprise. Sandra Drabik (51 kg), Karolina Koszewska (69 kg), Elżbieta Wójcik (75 kg) and Damian Durkacz (63 kg), the only Polish male boxer in the tournament, will have to fight very tough bouts to advance to the next round.

Sandra Drabik, ranked 14th by AIBA, will face Tursunoy Rakhimova of Uzbekistan, who is ranked 20th, in her first bout. Karolina Koszewska (9th in the AIBA rankings) will meet Shakhnoza Yunusova of Uzbekistan (19th). Elżbieta Wójcik (12th) faces Nouchka Fontijn of the Netherlands, the fourth-ranked boxer. Meanwhile, Damian Durkacz (22nd in the AIBA rankings) will box Gabil Mamedov of Russia, ranked 15th.
