Ukraine’s reserves too strong for Poland

Only Damian Durkacz (64 kg) won his bout in Poland’s second match at the International Boxing Tournament „Lviv Boxing Cup”. The Red-and-Whites lost 2-12 in Lviv to Ukraine’s second team. Just four bouts were held in the ring. Bartosz Gołębiewski (75 kg), Mateusz Goiński (81 kg) and Aleksander Celejewski (91 kg) did not compete because of injuries.

Durkacz, who made his senior debut this year, has been the brightest spot in the Polish team for several months. He won a unanimous points decision over Ukrainian Championship quarterfinalist Maksim Voronin. Two days earlier, the Ukrainian had defeated Cuban Dariesky’ego Palmero.
