Poland’s senior boxing team defeated Sweden 10-6 at Gryfia Hall in Słupsk. The points for the Red and Whites were scored by Adrian Kowal (60 kg), Damian Durkacz (64 kg), Jakub Kasprzak and Mateusz Goiński (both 81 kg), as well as Tomasz Niedźwiecki (91 kg). Neither team fielded its strongest lineup. Nevertheless, fans in Słupsk witnessed several interesting bouts.

The most pleasing aspect was the return to international competition of Tomasz Niedźwiecki, previously known by the surname Bohdanowicz. The boxer has a chance to fill the vacancy in the national team left by Igor Jakubowski in the 91 kg division.

Eryk Apresyan undoubtedly had the toughest task among the Polish boxers. His opponent was Sweden’s champion, Adolphe Sylva. The Swede won, and Polish fans may remember him from last year’s Feliks Stamm Memorial Tournament. The Bydgoszcz fighter had his best moments mainly in the second round. However, the result could be different if the two boxers meet again.
