Głowacki Survived a Difficult Moment as Quick Victories Came in Nysa

In the main event of the Sferis Knockout Promotion gala in Nysa, Krzysztof Głowacki (29-1, 18 KO) faced unbeaten Sergey Radchenko (6-1, 1 KO). Fans expected the popular „Główka” to dominate his opponent and stop the fight early. That did not happen. What is more, Głowacki was knocked down in the fifth round.
The bout was fought at a fast pace from the opening bell. Głowacki looked for the right solution, landing left jabs to the body and attempting right uppercuts. Radchenko knew the Pole’s style well and started cautiously. In the second round, however, he showed that he had not come to Nysa merely to make up the numbers, like a certain boxer from Tanzania.
In the following rounds, the Ukrainian became increasingly active and took advantage of moments when the former world champion slowed down. The fifth round brought the most excitement. After a series of Radchenko’s hooks, 31-year-old Głowacki hit the canvas, giving his opponent just under a minute to finish the fight. Instead, a furious exchange followed, and it was not far from the situation being completely reversed. The man who defeated Marco Huck regained control, although a tired Radchenko continued trying to turn the fight around until the final bell. After eight rounds, the judges unanimously awarded Głowacki the victory. All three scored it 77-74.
Krzysztof Włodarczyk (54-4-1, 38 KO) was due to return to the ring after his painful defeat by Murat Gassiev. He achieved his goal against Adam Gadayev (17-15, 8 KO), but there was still a sense of dissatisfaction. This was mainly due to his opponent’s performance.
The first three minutes, as is often the case in „Diablo” fights, were largely about feeling each other out. The former WBC and IBF cruiserweight world champion controlled the bout with his trademark left jab. Gadayev responded to most attacks with a tight guard. He lacked upper-body movement and the ability to set up his own attacks. After the second round, the Russian signaled a shoulder injury. The fight was stopped, to the disappointment of the fans and those gathered in the arena.
Unbeaten Paweł Stępień (8-0, 7 KO) continues to move forward. The Sferis Knockout Promotions boxer quickly dealt with Benson Mwakyembe (11-4-1, 6 KO), adding another victory to his record.
The fight ended in the first round. Stępień looked very confident from the outset and made good use of his reflexes. After two minutes of feeling each other out, he landed to the body. Mwakyembe hit the canvas with a grimace of pain on his face. Referee Leszek Jankowiak counted to ten, and it was all over.
Łukasz Różański (8-0, 6 KO) faced Hungary’s Andras Csomor (18-19-2, 14 KO). As expected, the bout did not last long. The Polish boxer, who previously defeated Albert Sosnowski, has increasingly ambitious goals. He even declared his desire to fight Krzysztof Zimnoch.
The course of the fight does not require a lengthy description. Różański overwhelmed Csomor with a flurry of punches and quickly took control. The Hungarian found it difficult to respond to his opponent’s superiority. The fight ended in the second round.
Przemysław Zyśk (6-0, 3 KO) also needed only a few minutes to defeat Kevin Ongenae (10-5-1, 1 KO). The Belgian, nicknamed „The Teacher,” received a painful lesson from the unbeaten Pole.
Zyśk imposed his terms from the opening bell and did not allow his opponent to settle into the fight. After losing the first round, Ongenae took several body shots in the second. He dropped to one knee after one of them, and the referee began the count. The Belgian did not want to continue the bout.
In the opening fight of the gala, Fedir Cherkashyn (8-0, 5 KO) knocked out Artem Karasev (9-33-2, 7 KO) in the first round. It was the Ukrainian’s professional debut in a Polish ring, and it may not be his last appearance.
Cherkashyn displayed solid footwork. After landing several accurate punches, he sent the Russian to the canvas. Karasev had little desire to continue and quickly quit. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian paid for his own appearance. This may mean that he intends to continue his career in Poland and appear regularly in professional rings.
