Kownacki Dismantles Szpilka to Score the Biggest Win of His Career

We have been saying for years that Adam Kownacki (16-0, 13 KOs) is one of the most underrated boxers around. The unbeaten Pole, who has boxed his entire career across the Atlantic, has just demolished the favored Artur Szpilka (20-3, 15 KOs)!
The opening of the fight unfolded as expected. Adam applied pressure and frequently attacked the body. Artur, moving well, slipped off the line of attack and answered with counters. Toward the end of the first round, he landed a combination consisting of a left jab and a right hook. At the beginning of the second, with his back against the ropes, “Szpila” countered “Baby Face” with a right hook to the body, then followed up moments later with a powerful left hook to the jaw. Kownacki paused for a moment, but a dozen seconds later he was on the attack again.
For the first two and a half minutes of the third round, Artur continued to box effectively from range and outpoint Adam. At one point, however, he lost his concentration and took a straight right. Kownacki immediately followed with a hard hook to the body. That punch had the greatest effect on Szpilka. The closing moments of the round clearly belonged to Adam. It was merely a preview of what was about to happen.
At the beginning of the fourth round, Kownacki landed a straight right and then followed up with a right hook to the jaw. Instead of getting away, Szpilka began taunting his opponent. You cannot afford to do that against someone who punches as hard as Kownacki. Artur quickly paid for the mistake. Adam followed up, unleashed a barrage of powerful punches and sent him to the canvas. “Szpila” rose at the count of eight, but he was visibly dazed. Kownacki moved in to finish the job. He landed a right to the jaw, added another right, and the referee saved Szpilka from a heavy knockout!
