Second medal for Poland in Anapa. Offman reaches the semifinals

Just as in Anapa yesterday, today we also celebrated a medal won by a Polish boxer at the 26th Men’s European Youth Championships. Two members of the Polish team appeared in the quarterfinals – Damian Durkacz (56 kg) and Kamil Offman (91 kg). The latter, who represents Orkan Gorzów Wielkopolski, advanced to the medal stage.
Damian Durkacz was the first to take to the ring. His opponent was the dynamic, offensively minded southpaw Matteo Pirrera of Italy. The Italian did not impress with his technical skills, but he was more active and frequently forced the Pole onto the defensive. He did not do much damage there, but his activity caught the judges’ attention. They unanimously awarded the victory to the Italian.
Kamil Offman, meanwhile, comfortably defeated Belarusian Dzimitru Sinkin on points. The Pole produced solid, balanced and tactically disciplined boxing. He deservedly advanced to the semifinals, holding the advantage over his opponent in both physical attributes and skill.
On Monday, June 13, Kamil Offman will face Azerbaijan’s Shahin Musaev in the semifinal.
