“I would like to compete in a unification bout, for example against Marco Huck for two belts,” declares Krzysztof Włodarczyk.

– What do you think about the idea of fighting BJ Flores in July or August in the United States?
Krzysztof Włodarczyk: I’m very happy about it. I’ll say more—I’m absolutely delighted! It would be great if the fight happened, although not in New York or Chicago, but somewhere else. I’ve already been to those cities (laughs). Seriously, I’m not complaining. I’m just counting on arriving in the United States two weeks before the fight so I can acclimatize and have time to spar.

– What do you know about BJ Flores?
KW: I saw his fight with Danny Green. He’s a good and fairly clever boxer who thinks in the ring. You have to be wary of that. Besides, you need to keep repeating your attacks and move forward. It’s America, which also means slightly different judging. I don’t want to give anyone any reason to question who the better boxer is.

– You haven’t fought since December, when you faced Giacobbe Fragomeni in Chicago. This is another long layoff. Don’t you fight too infrequently?
KW: A little too infrequently. It’s not that I’m picky when choosing opponents. I simply want to fight for serious money. I’m not talking about millions of zlotys, but rather hundreds of thousands. That’s all. It’s possible that next year I’ll once again consider moving up to heavyweight, but first I would have to heal my injuries. I can fight this way at cruiserweight, but heavyweight is a completely different story. I’m thinking, among other things, about my shoulder. Before moving up in weight, I would also like to compete in a unification bout, for example against Marco Huck for two championship belts. We could put on an interesting show.
